It's challenging to maintain a close relationship with Jesus. We get busy with work, family, and other obligations, and sometimes we don't have time for Him. Other times, we may feel like He has abandoned us. If you're feeling disconnected from Jesus, don't worry! There are steps you can take to rebuild your relationship with Him. This blog post will discuss some tips for reconnecting with Jesus.
One way to reconnect with Jesus is to spend time in prayer. Talking to Jesus and listening to His voice are essential to the relationship. You can also read your Bible, attend church, or serve others to connect with Him. However, prayer holds a powerful place because it opens a communication door to restoring your relationship with Jesus.
The best way to pray when you want to restore your relationship with Jesus is to start with a confession. Confess your sins; even if you believe you have no sin, still come with admission because the Bible tells us, "If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth." (1 John 1:8 NLT) confession clears the path for a fresh start. After admission:
Express your desire to reconnect with Jesus.
Tell Him how much you need and love Him.
Be specific about your requests.
Ask for guidance and strength as you seek to rebuild your relationship with Jesus.
Another way to restore your relationship with Jesus is the read your Bible in a new way. Try a different translation, read with a study Bible, or use devotionals to help you dig deeper into God's Word. You may already read your Bible and still feel disconnected; reading your Bible in a new way can help you know Jesus in a new way.
Going to church can also help you reconnect with Jesus. Worship, fellowship, and teaching can all help you draw closer to Him. If you're not currently attending church, consider finding one that is right for you, regardless of the distance from your home. Sometimes the best church for you is not within your current community, which is okay. In times like this, we can now be virtual members of a church. It is crucial not just to attend church but to be involved in a church.
That brings me to the last way to reconnect with Jesus. Jesus is a big fan of serving others. He was our savior, yet he came to earth to help. We get closer to Jesus when we do others because we follow in His footsteps. It also reminded us of our own need for Him. As you help others, pray and ask God to show you how He wants you to serve. There are many opportunities to do for others within your church. You can also look for ways to help in your community.
When we take the time to reconnect with Jesus, our relationship with Him grows more substantial. We see Him working in our lives, and we can better follow His will for our lives. These tips can help you get started on the path to rebuilding your relationship with Jesus.
We hope these tips were helpful to you. Remember, Jesus is always there for you, even when you feel you're at your lowest. He loves you unconditionally and wants nothing more than a relationship with you. So don't give up. Reach out and let Him in. He's waiting with open arms.
