Seven Things Jesus Never Said

Dear friend, don’t let this bad example influence you. Follow what is good. Remember

that those who do good prove that they are God’s children, and those who do evil prove

that they do not know God.

1 John 3:11

Observation

The scripture for today tells us not to allow poor examples to influence us. As you walk into this world and seek to live a better life each day, someone or something affects you. The words of others can have a significant impact on you. Have you ever wondered what Jesus would say to us if he were here today? What would his advice be on how we should live our lives? Well, wonder no more! Here are seven things that Jesus never said. These pearls of wisdom will make your day and help you grow closer to God.

  1. “Believe in yourself.” Jesus never told us to believe in ourselves or have self-confidence. He tells us quite the opposite: “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son” (John 3:18). We need a Savior–not a pep talk!

  2. Jesus never said to walk this journey of life alone; instead, He told us in 1 Peter 5:7, “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” Therefore, we must go to Him in all things so that he can make the journey much easier for us.

  3. “I am Sorry” Jesus has offended many people during His life, but He never apologized for speaking the truth; neither should we. I believe Jesus never placed himself when He has to apologize. Instead, He focuses on doing what is right.

  4. “Do it, or else I punish you worse than the devil himself could do to you. “Jesus never threatened us to accept Him as savior; instead, He came and told us exactly what our father has for us. John 3:18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.”

  5. “You need to perfect before coming to Him” Jesus rejects no one because of who they are or what they do. The Bible tells us in Romans 5:8, “But God shows his love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

  6. “Do unto others just as they do to you” It’s essential to take to know that no matter how kind you are to people, then they can and will mistreat you, therefore, seek to be the better person and do as Jesus would like you to do.

  7. “Be happy” happiness is superficial in the world. Happiness comes from Jesus, which is called joy and peace.

Application

If you’ve ever wanted to know what Jesus would say to us if he were here today, fear not. Here are seven things that Jesus never said, and they will make your day and help you grow closer to God. Whether it’s the Bible or just a quote from somebody who claims to be “Jesus,” we can all use some uplifting words in our lives now and then! Christians who don’t go to church might find this article especially interesting because these pearls of wisdom come straight from someone who knows how hard life is and has excellent advice on how we should live our lives.
